What we did this weekend:
We went to Arkansas and Husband's parents rented us a houseboat for the weekend. We spent Saturday-Monday on a lake and took some breaks to watch Husband's little brother play some college soccer games. It was a gorgeous weekend in Arkansas and the lake water was the perfect temperature! Sadly, we had just gotten into the groove of things when it was time to drive back to Texas. Check out some of the pictures I took this weekend.
- We drove through massive wildfires on the way back from Arkansas. I've never driven through red and black clouds of smoke. It was scary! We saw fires springing up everywhere! Luckily, my dear friends in NY mapped out the fires for us so we knew what to expect along the way. Pray for everyone affected by these scary fires!
- I committed to running a 15K when I go up to New York this month. Guess I really need to kick-start that training!! All my complaining aside, it's the smartest way to get in shape for the half we are running in November!
- I got my first donation from my loving Grandparents to jump-start my fundraising for the Half-Marathon in November. She mailed me a check so it won't show up for a few days but you can also donate online at my fundraising page. Please help me raise money to help keep kids healthy!
- We enjoyed our first days of fall weather! This morning I woke up and it was 60 degrees outside! It's absolutely beautiful and an excellent way to start out the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte season!!
What exciting things did you do this Labor Day? Is anyone being affected by the terrible fires?!
