Today I am thankful for Max's birthday. He is one year old today and I'm thankful that we have him in our family and that he is growing into such a good dog. We still have a year or so to go to deal with some of his puppy traits (like getting bored and wanting to play with things he shouldn't play with) but he's becoming so well-behaved and protective. Just what we wanted him for. Not to mention, he gives us so many laughs and is great to snuggle with! The pic to the left was taking on Christmas morning. He got to hang out with me on the bed for a bit :) I'm thankful that the Texans are still in the playoffs this weekend. I'm not a huge NFL fan but Husband is and he's pumped to cheer on the Texans this Sunday. I'm glad he gets to watch his team play this weekend and I hope they win on Sunday! I'm thankful for my ridiculous cat, Meg. Last night I was laying on the floor with my heating pad on to try to work out some of the tightness in my back. I got up to feed the dogs and came back to this hilarious sight. Meg had discovered the heating pad and passed out on it. I got more pictures of her curled up on the entire pad but this one shows off how funny she is. Two very close friends of mine, Kim and Cate, are in the homestretch of their pregnancies. Both are under 100 days of their due dates and I couldn't be more excited to meet Baby Kash (hopefully the end of February!) and Baby Claire (due in April). Since we aren't ready to have kids yet, I love being able to share the experiences of my friends who are expecting. I'm thankful that I can be a part of their lives while they go through such an exciting time!

Today is my mom's birthday! We are planning a great little party for her downtown. Hope she has a blast! Love you, Mom!!!
I can't believe Hermano turned 21 this weekend!! I remember the day my brother was born. The anticipation of him getting here and the excitement when I finally had a little brother to play with! His birthday is 8 days after mine and I have always said he was my birthday present. Hermano was born C-section so my mom and dad went to the hospital at the scheduled time and left me out at my friend Timothy's house to await the phone call that my little brother had arrived. I sat waiting and waiting and it seemed like FOREVER before we could finally pile into the car and head to the Med Center. As soon as I got to the the hospital, I couldn't wait to see what he looked like! Nine months is a LONG time to wait for something, especially when you're only 4. From that day on, my brother was my pride and joy. We were best friends and never fought about ANYTHING. To this day, we have only had one argument and it didn't last long (I don't even remember what it was about!). When my brother celebrated his 21st birthday this weekend, I got very sentimental. I mean, he is really turning into a grown up and I can't believe it! We threw him a birthday party that included an afternoon of food, drinks, and games and I think he had a blast! I hope he remembers this birthday as something special. I know I will. |
