This weekend was my mom's 60th birthday and we threw her a 1920's themed birthday party. It was so much fun seeing everyone dressed up in their 20's gear and listening to music from the era! We had excellent food and the house was decorated amazingly. The best part about the weekend was the fact that we had family come in town to celebrate. 3 of my mom's 5 siblings made it down from Kansas along with 4 of my cousins! We also had a special visit from Caitlin (who is basically my sister). The friends that came for the party were so special to my mom and I know she truly appreciated everyone who made it!

Sorry I was MIA last week. I was on a business trip to New Mexico and Arizona. We were working at the Navajo Fair and I didn't get back until the weekend. While I was working, I took some great pictures that I wanted to share with you! Hope you enjoy! First off, I'd like to congratulate Gabby Douglas on an amazing performance in the gymnastics all-around last night. She did amazing and the end to her floor routine was just incredible! Who can't fall in love with that smile of hers?? Congrats on bringing home another US gold and for being such a great model for us! You are truly a joy to watch, Miss Gabby Douglas!!! And now for some good Olympic-themed laughs for your Friday!! So I've been seeing these pins on pinterest that are descriptions of people and who they are and what they love. They come from a couple of different blogs. One is called Little Reasons to Smile and the other is called ...And That's Who I Am. My friend Sarah has been pinning them and put them on a board called "All About Me" so I thought I'd pick a few that describe who I am and share them with you :)
My friend Gretchen is an amazingly talented artist. She is so creative and has such a broad range of abilities. An article was published this past week at examiner.com about how she started her Etsy shop and where her inspirations come from. Read the article here. Gretchen tries to recycle things and turn them into art and that makes for some incredibly creative items. You can find her shop at here. No matter what you want, I'm sure Gretchen can create it for you. She does jewelry, pop-up books, paintings, sketches, makes boxes, paints designs on floors and walls (even computer monitors haha!), clothes, and she can make items such as curtains or books. Below is a tiny sampling of some of her work but it doesn't even begin so show off her talent. Take a look at her site and you'll see even more of what she can make! As a side note, not only is Gretchen an incredible artist but she is also a dance teacher and a heck of an Irish-step dancer. Above all, she is a good-hearted, amazing girl :) In light of a conversation I had with my work pal, Kim, I thought I'd put up some cute/funny pictures of dogs to make you laugh and smile this morning. Happy Friday you guys!
