This week I am thankful for LOVE. Yeah, I know, it's cliche since it was valentine's week but still... I'm thankful for the love around me. For family and friends and the people who care about me. I'm so blessed and I am grateful for all that God has blessed me with. And I'm thankful for all the love that was shown this week (and posted all over facebook! haha). It makes me happy to see others feeling so loved by those around them. Husband the night of our wedding rehearsal I'm also thankful for Husband. He has been so sweet lately and I've noticed that he has been making an extra effort to do little things around the house and be more patient. (Something we both need to work on!). I'm so blessed to be with him! It has rained so much lately and I'm very grateful for it! Though I'm probably not quite as grateful as my trees are! All this rain has really brought the life back to my fruit trees and those that I thought I'd lost during the drought are now beginning to grow new leaves and flowers. It's wonderful to watch them spring back to life! This week I was very thankful for my Crock Pot. I made dinner Tuesday and we still have some leftovers for tonight. It's very nice to come home and not have to prepare dinner every single night. With this handy little kitchen tool, I could prepare Tuesday's dinner on Monday night and not have to worry for the rest of the week.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's day today! Even if you don't have a significant other to share it with, find someone who means a lot to you like a best friend or a family member and let them know how much they mean to you! I hope everyone makes the extra effort to show someone how much they love them!
P.S. If you haven't seen the Google homepage today, check it out. Super cute video! Happy Monday, Everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend. Did anyone do anything special for Valentine's weekend? Since Husband and are usually tired at the end of the work day, we didn't want to commit to anything extravagant for Valentine's day (tomorrow) so we decided to do our big celebration on Saturday. (Though, Hubs brought me some pretty flowers on Friday night to kick off the weekend).
We spent the morning doing errands and whatnot and then Husband earned major brownie points for coming to the mall to meet me and help me pick out a dress for a wedding we have in a couple weeks. As silly as it sounds, the fact that he dropped everything just to meet me in the dress department at Macy's made me feel like I had the sweetest husband ever. I mean, first, he hates malls and second, he really hates sitting in the dressing room lounge waiting for me to try on clothes. So thanks, love, for being so great! Then Saturday afternoon, we headed out to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner. Now most people think of a romantic dinner for Valentine's but we went a little off-the-beaten-path. Instead, we had crawfish!! I LOVEEEE crawfish and look forward to the crawfish season every year. One of my favorite places to eat is called Crawfish Shack and even though it's quite a drive, it's totally worth it! I enjoyed 5 pounds of spicy cajun-style deliciousness and followed that up with tons of corn and potatoes. It was a perfect way to celebrate our relationship :) After dinner, we rented Crazy, Stupid Love and we were pleasantly surprised by how good it was! All in all, it was a fabulous Valentine's celebration. This week I am thankful for my sweet kitty, Meg. She has been with me for 14.5 years and is the perfect pet for snuggling with when you're having a bad day, sick, or just want something little and sweet to be with. Husband and me at Maria's wedding in September I'm also thankful for my sweet husband. He has made an extra effort to be sweet and take care of me this week. Tuesday night I got home and he had swept and mopped the kitchen floors and started dinner so I wouldn't have to! Then last night when I was sick with a fever, he put away dinner and then tucked me into bed and made sure I got plenty of rest! I'm so excited that my grandparents will be here next week! I'm so thankful for their presence in my life. This pic was taken on their 56th anniversary in July of 2006. I got to spend a couple weeks with them in Daytona and it was such a great experience for us. I cannot wait to see them next week! In an effort to save money, Husband and I have resolved to try to cut back on our Starbucks trips (mainly mine!). The next few days Starbucks is offering a two-for-one deal that will allow us both to have a holiday drink for the price of one!! I'm thankful I get to enjoy a coffee date with Husband this week! |
